Dutch seeds from Srem - Flonera to pour EUR 700.000 in fruit production in Sremska Mitrovica
Flonera is a joint venture which was set up on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Sremska Mitrovica by Dutch company, Han Fluren holding and I-Cargo from that place.
Newly- set up company will produce consuming fruit seeds in Fruska gora area. It is a greenfield investment in production of seeding material in line with the most modern Dutch technology. The initial investment value in the first investment cycle is some EUR 700.000. In the first cycle, production of 500.000 seeds with export potential of EUR 1 m was planned.
-The best way to cooperate with foreign partners is the situation when he, except from investments, brings knowledge and new technologies and local partner implements and develops them. Dutch partner, with bringing the knowledge outside his country, showed he trusts local partner and in the Republic of Serbia. Serious foreign investors recognized Serbia as a guarantee of safe investments in this region which is one of the main requests of foreign investors – the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, said, it was communicated form the cabinet of the minister of trade.
The minister outlined that it is important for this project the fact that investment in specific knowledge related to it will have a number of effect. The first option is sale of fruit seeds at local and foreign market, Sertic said and added that on the other hand, it is important that the state supports through active measures all those who want to plant seeds in Serbia and that after that, fruit and fruit products sell at local and foreign market.
Dutch company, Han Fluren holding owns patent for so-called KNIP seeds which are thought to be one of the most important achievements in fruit world. The company is a renowned producer with the tradition longer than 90 years and annual production of 2.500.000 seeds.
The investment is important also for the transfer of knowledge and experience the Dutch company is bringing and which has not been outside the boundaries of the Netherlands so far.
Henricius Fleuren, the owner of the
Dutch company said that Han Fluren holding is a family company with tradition
of 90 years and that now for the first time it will produce fruit seeds in line
with special methodology in a foreign country.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Sremska Mitrovica, Branislav Nedimovic, attaché for agriculture at the embassy of the Netherlands, Martin Vehen, and Zoran Kovacevic, a founder and an owner of I-Cargo.
