Electricity excises will total RSD 0,5 per KWh

The minister of finance, Dusan Vujovic said that electricity excises will not be given in percentage but they will total RDS 0,5 per Kwh as of April this year.

In his interview for daily Politika, he said the news on electricity price increase has recently been confirmed since the Government did not want to publish program agreed with IMF while the Board of Managers at IMF adopted the program.

He said that if excises are implemented for all beverage, apart from water, they will total a dinar or two per liter and that it is more important objective to monitor goods flow than direct profit increase since as he said, beverage are the biggest grey economy source in cafes.

Vujovic added that they agreed with IMF to decrease headcount in public sector by five percent through natural outflow and layoffs.

When asked why he neglected that layoffs are a part of the agreement, Vujovic said he claimed the objective of the program is more efficient state not layoffs.

The minister said a part of the funds from the property will be used to return the most expensive loans.
