SERTIC: Reform of Srbijagas starts in the spring

(Zeljko Sertic) In his appearance at Dnevnik RTS, the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, said that the Government of Serbia in December made action plans for EPS and Zeleznica reforms and that during next month or two, it will do the same for Srbijagas and Putevi Srbija which are the first serious moves which, as he says, have been done when it comes to public companies’ reforms.

- In line with the plan for the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, number of managers has been decreased, organizational units were designed completely differently and the objective is to get a quality shareholder company with three mother companies in 2016 – Sertic said.

According to him, the same will go for Zeleznice (Railways of Serbia) so a lot of work can be expected this year.

As he says, both in our country and in the world, there is resistance but also determination and readiness in reforms, plans and objectives, the way how to explain the staff, first of all to management and everyone else is sufficient indicator.

The ones who do not work or who do not have abilities and knowledge will have to look for job somewhere else, Sertic outlined.

Speaking about Zelezara, the minister of trade said that if Esmark pays the part released in competition and signs agreement on secrecy, Saturday will see the exact number of companies when the first commission meets.

Speaking about companies in restructuring and deadlines, Sertic says that by January 31, action plans for 188 m were provided, social programs started, requests for 76 companies which do not have employees were sent by the end of February to start bankruptcy procedure.
