The first cat caffe opened
In Ljubljana quart, Prule, these days Cat Caffe, the first Slovenian café for cats was opened. Owners of this café, Robert Sankovic and Tina Piskac Sedej got inspiration in Vienna in cats’ café, Cafe Neko".
Investment in this café totals nearly EUR 50.000 and one of the motifs was the fact that fans of exotic cats in Ljubljana can hardly get a flat since owners are not so eager to rent them to people with pets.
There are five cats at Cat Caffe as for now. A big challenge for the owner of a café which can host 25 guests was space design. It was a good idea to comply with hygiene conditions: food must be separated from the room where cats are. Therefore, there is a glass counter since cats cannot come in contact with food or drink. Cat Caffe is completely adapted to cat needs.
- This is where they sleep, eat, play and have fun. We made them a small polygon and placed a large number of pieces of furniture. Toys are made in a way that cats can move when they want their peace - Tina Piskac Sedej explains.
