Establishment of destination management structure in the territory of Fruska Gora and the Danube basin should significantly contribute to the development of tourism and overall economy in nine municipalities of Backa and Srem, it was said Thursday (19 January 2015) at the presentation of this unique project, part of the Danube Strategy.

- The first phase of this project, which will take eight months to complete, will see the establishment of Destination Management Company - DMC Dunav, the first of the kind in Europe - said Srdjan Vezmar, the director of Backa Regional Development Agency, at a presentation held in the lobby of the Provincial government building.

- This project aims to create events and adventures, that is, a tourist offer that will, among other things, generate profits - Vezmar pointed out.

Implementation of this project creates preconditions for successful positioning of Fruska Gora and the Danube basin on the global market through the establishment of DMC Dunav, it was announced at aforementioned event and added the first two phases of the destination management project would cost the province RSD 20 million.
