BOGOSAVLJEVIC BOSKOVIC: Ferrero's project in Serbia has been running smoothly, implementation as of September 2015

The minister of agriculture, Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, said on Saturday, January 17, 2015, that intensive implementation of previous agreement with Ferrero on hazelnut production in Serbia and that everything has been running smoothly.

She outlined that already four groups have been set up for the implementation of the project and they comprise representatives of Ferrero, Ministry of agriculture, and the Institute for implementation of science in agriculture and the Institute for fruit growing.

Their task is to define priority regions, dynamics of project presentation, Bogosavljevic Boskovic said, mentioning that the ministry will define with the Regulation on incentives for multi-year plantations additional incentive of this production totaling RSD 50.000 per ha.

It was planned, the minister said, to start the project implementation in September.

It is the project which implies hazelnut planting on 10.000 ha - 40% would be big plantations , and 60% plantations on individual agricultural land of cooperation, the minister said for Tanjug.

A total of 75% agricultural area in Serbia is convenient for hazelnut production.
