Mitros sold to the Austrians
The board of trustees of Sremska Mitrovica-based Mitros accepted the offer of Austrian Gierlinger holding for the acquisition of this industrial slaughter and can production company. Estimated value is somewhat more than 13 ha of land with the right of usage and total of 36 facilities of Mitros was RSD 478.600.500 and the only interested buyer offered EUR 800.000 EUR.
Decision of the acquisition made former employees and small shareholders who have been running marathon disputes with the former plant happy since now they expect payment of their claims and some of them to get jobs again.
As Johan Gierlinger said during his last visit to Sremska Mitrovica, his plan is to hire 300 people in the first stage and invest between eight and ten million euros in new equipment. He wants to start production in early July already and the final objective is to hire more than 1000 people, to pour more than EUR 20 m in new equipment and to expot to Russia and Chine entire production scope.
