Public debt of Serbia totals EUR 22, 86 billion

Public debt of Serbia totals EUR 22,86 billion which is some EUR 570 m more than at the end of November last year, the Public Debt Directorate of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia has announced today,

According to the Directorate, on January 9, public debt totaled RSD 2.803,6 billion.

At the end of November 2014, public debt of Serbia totaled RSD 2.686,6 billion, i.e. EUR 22, 29 billion, which is 69,2% gross domestic product (GDP).

At the end of 2013, Serbia’s public debt totaled EUR UR 20, 14 billion, i.e. 59,6% GDP.

Public debt at the end of 2000 was EUR 14,17 billion, which totaled 201,2% GDP. Since that time, the lowest public debt was in 2008 and totaled EUR 8,78 billion, i.e. 28,3% GDP.

The Law on budget system comprises public GDP limited at 45%.
