Hospital like a space ship - Nis opens modern Clinic for cardio and transplantation surgery (PHOTO)
As of yesterday, Nis has one of the
best equipped medical institutions in this part of Europe.
Cardio surgical clinic in Nis which the minister of health, dr. Zlatibor Loncar officially opened yesterday, is not only equipped with the most modern medical devices but patients will even have 20 tablets so that they communicate with their friends and family.
Clinic for cardio surgery has extra corporal circulation essential for all operations on open heart at the main surgery hall.
- Without this device, we would not be able to carry out surgeries on open heart since it replaces heart, i.e. circulation of a patient - Ruzica Milosavljevic, the responsible nurse of the surgery block is proudly showing new surgery hall.
She adds the entire surgery block, with two surgery halls more, is connected with sterile lift which transports instruments and laundry.
There are nine hospital beds at in intensive care where patients will get the best care and treatment after difficult operation on open heart.
At the stationary block on the ground floor there are 19 patient beds where patients will be while preparing for complex surgeries on open heart.
Clinic for cardio surgery also had and its own most modern laboratory where all blood analysis can be done in 15 minutes. The construction of the clinic on 2.360 m2 lasted for four years and RSD 250.000 m was invested. The ambassador, Michael Kirby and representatives of the Chinese Embassy attended the opening.
The head of the Clinic for vascular surgery, dr. Dragan Milic, says that Nis-based clinic will be equipped in the same manner as famous Mejo clinic.
-In Nis, kidney transplantation is a routine surgery and it will be done at this clinic as well and we hope to become capable for liver transplantation over the years as well. Bypass procedures are carried out on a heart. We will do it in the beginning with our colleagues from Belgrade and later on our own – Milic said.
