Skype gets universal translator - Skype Translator already available in test version
In May, Satya Nadella announced that by the end of the year he will present functionality for Skype which will function as a universal instant translator.
Microsoft’s CEO obviously sticks to his words since as of today, at the official Skype pages, it is possible to apply for testing of the software. It is the Skype Translator application.
Skype’s additional functionality should enable current communication between collocutors which speak different languages by writing automatically translation at the bottom of the screen. It was announced it will be possible to translate the talks between a few languages (it was not specified which) as well as that instant messages in 45 different languages will be possible.
For testing of Skype Translator, all interested users can apply today already and the application will for a start function only at the Windows 8.1 operating system.
