Russians expand ban on import from EU to beef products
As of Tuesday, October 21, Russia will expand the list of nutrition which cannot be imported from EU countries adding beef meat and beef products to it.
The Russians explained the embargo on the import of these products with their dissatisfaction of the products quality imported to the Russian market from EU, the Czech website, e15.cz, reported.
Apart from that, they outlined that negotiations between the representatives of the Union and Russia in Latvia did not fulfill the expectations of the Russian party and legal means were not guaranteed for the future either. The Russian veterinary and phito-sanitary service Roselhoznadzor decided on it, the website added.
Russian veterinaries claim that in 17 cases of imported beef products, banned substance were confirmed – chloramphenicol, cadmium, tetracycline, plumb, listeria and salmonella. According to Roselhoznadzor, the products came from Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Poland and Austria.
According to the president of the Czech association of meat processors, Jaromir Kloud, middle east countries should not feel a lot when it comes to the ban because they do not import large quantities of meat products to Russia, e15.cz website reports.
