The carrier of the job is the PE Roads of Serbia.
The bridge and the access routes on the Backa side are planned at the entrance to Backa Palanka, from the direction of Novi Sad, and on the Srem side, close to the village of Nestin.
An embankment is planned on the Backa side, and on the Srem side, a cut is planned.
The ministry recommends for the access route to the bridge to be built first.
The project of the construction of a bridge between Nestin and Backa Balanka across the Danube was announced back in 2014, and in December 2021, the tender for the preparation of the project for the construction permit was published. The job worth RSD 44.8 million was won by the CIP Institute of Transportation and Geomehanika doo Beograd.
The 1,989 meters long bridge will be a connection of Backa Palanka with Nestin, Erdevik, Kuzmin and the state border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Backa Palanaka already has a bridge on the Danube, but it leads to Croatia.
